Community Achievement Points (CAPs)

Community Achievement Points, or CAPs, are given at the discretion of game runners to individuals who have gone above and beyond to contribute to the game in a positive way. This can be anything from helping a fellow player to assisting game runners to make things happen. CAPs awarded by Dystopia Rising Maryland are for use only by Dystopia Rising Maryland.


Local CAPs Rewards

  • Gizmo: Single Use (x1)

    A redeemable voucher for a buy list. Mechanics: When used with the specified basic purchase skill, it provides 1 additional purchase from that list. Note: This item affects a specific purchase skill (Sailing, Criminal Influence, Trade Connections). This item is redeemed instantly upon purchase. Only 1 may be purchased per event, per character and are non-transferable.

  • Receive a specialty local item and short story designed to help pull you into the weekend's plot (7+ days notice suggested)escription text goes here

  • The Writer or Director in charge of your plot will give you direct guidance on how to either move a plot forward or how to achieve a desired outcome. Note that this does not mean that all outcomes will be achievable, just that if there is a way to do so, how best to do it and the likely odds will be relayed. If the request is impossible or information not available, CAPs are refunded.

  • Gizmo: Single Use (x1)

    A redeemable voucher for a buy list. Mechanics: When used with the specified proficient purchase skill, it provides 1 additional purchase from that list. Note: This item affects a specific purchase skill (Sailing, Criminal Influence, Trade Connections). This item is redeemed instantly upon purchase. Only 1 may be purchased per event, per character and are non-transferable.

  • Gizmo: Single Use (x1)

    This relic, be it a Tome, Artwork, or other work capable of transcendental inspiration is capable, through study, of inducting someone into a specific Faith without the need to involve a Faithful Aberrant. The User of this Local Plot Item can, with 30 Minutes of Active Roleplay studying, worshiping, or otherwise having a religious experience with the item and, if willing, become Inducted into the Faith specified on the Item. This Relic can only be purchased for Faiths outlined in the main Dystopia Rising LARP book, or local DR:MD Cults.

  • You may choose 1 Blueprint to receive a copy of at Logistics.

  • Receive a tip-off to a valuable or hidden but important in-game location by the end of the current 12s or 4 hours (whichever is longer). What counts as Valuable to your Character you might be able to specify if staff time and resources allow, otherwise this defaults to material value. If the request is impossible or information not available, CAPs are refunded.

  • Allows player to swap characters one additional time on top of the swaps allowed. Note: Only one additional swap may be purchased per event

  • Gizmo: Single Use (x1)

    A redeemable voucher for a buy list. Mechanics: When used with the specified master purchase skill, it provides 1 additional purchase from that list. Note: This item affects a specific purchase skill (Sailing, Criminal Influence, Trade Connections). This item is redeemed instantly upon purchase. Only 1 may be purchased per event, per character and are non-transferable.

  • Have a bunk already waiting for you on site, marked with your name and player number. Can specify which cabin, top or bottom bunk, and preference of specific bed if desired.

  • Have a cabin reserved for you and your crew. We will designate an entire sleeping space as reserved sleeping for you and a list of individuals you designate. While the space itself remains in play as normal, you can be sure all of your mates will get a chance to bunk together. Cabin specifics can be chosen and will be discussed with logistics director (while supplies last).
